Kim Kardashian West debuted a new scent in her KKW Fragrance line to mixed reactions this week.

The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star announced Monday that the bottle for her upcoming perfume, KKW Body, was made from a mold of her body.

After releasing several nude promotional photos for the scent, which spawned a flood of mom-shaming comments on social media, Kardashian West unveiled the bottle for KKW Body on her Instagram story Wednesday. The KKW Beauty founder said in one of the clips that the bottle was designed to look like a statue on a pedestal in a museum.

Some people think it looks similar to Jean Paul Gaultier's iconic line of perfumes.

Following the debut, however, some began accusing the mom of three of copying French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier.

On Twitter, several people claimed that the design for KKW Body looks similar to Gaultier's famous line of perfumes shaped like male and female torsos.

Many drew parallels between KKW Body and Gaultier's 1993 fragrance, Classique, specifically.

Jean Paul Gaultier appeared to acknowledge the accusations on Instagram.

As rumors swirled on social media, Gaultier posted a photo of his "Classique" perfume on Thursday. In the caption, the fashion designer wrote, "Keeping up with the fragrance's news!" in an apparent reference to "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

A representative for KKW Beauty told INSIDER that Kardashian West was inspired by "a traditional bust statue."

In response to INSIDER's request for comment about these accusations, a representative for KKW Beauty said that Kardashian West was "inspired by the many statues in her home" as well as "by Vanessa Beecroft's work as an artist" in the making of KKW Body.

As Kardashian West noted in a tweet from earlier this week, her latest scent was made in collaboration with artist Vanessa Beecroft. Beecroft has worked with Kardashian West's husband, Kanye West, on several different projects over the past decade. According to the KKW Beauty representative, the campaign for the upcoming scent was created and shot in Beecroft's art gallery.

"Kim has admired Vanessa as a sculptor," the KKW Beauty representative said to INSIDER. "The creative process was fueled by Kim's desire to recreate her body as a sculpture. The packaging is reminiscent of a bust statue showcased at a museum in both color and design."

The KKW Beauty representative added that the Jean Paul Gaultier bottle "is iconic" and "Kim loves how he celebrated the woman's body." But the KKW Body bottle was "inspired by a traditional bust statue," the representative said. And Kardashian West "wanted to make it personal to her, so she made an exact mold of her body."

Speaking to Cosmopolitan, Kardashian West noted that the mold of her body was made not just for KKW Body but also for "a big sculpture." When Cosmopolitan asked where she plans to put the sculpture, the KKW Beauty founder said she "has to see it first."

The KKW Beauty founder also hinted that a unisex fragrance, which she mentioned on Twitter this week, could be coming soon: "Yeah, I'm hoping so … there are two others ... I don't want to say just yet, but yeah, I'm hoping in the fall."

These claims aside, many have expressed their excitement about Kardashian West's upcoming scent.

Some people on social media have praised Kardashian West for embracing her body.

KKW Body, which launches April 30, will be Kardashian West's second perfume for her fragrance line after a trio of gardenia-inspired scents in November 2017, which sold out in less than a week. According to the KKW Fragrance website, KKW Body is "a narcotic elixir that offers an opening of bright, energetic bergamot embracing a burst of juicy peach nectar." A 100-milliliter bottle will retail for $60.

"In the making of this fragrance, Kim was inspired by the many statues in her home and also by Vanessa Beecroft's work as an artist. Kim has admired Vanessa as a sculptor, which is why she was involved in the making of the campaign, created and shot in Vanessa's art gallery. The creative process was fueled by Kim's desire to recreate her body as a sculpture. The packaging is reminiscent of a bust statue showcased at a museum in both color and design.

The Jean Paul Gaultier bottle is iconic and Kim loves how he celebrated the woman's body. The KKW Body bottle is inspired by a traditional bust statue, but Kim wanted to make it personal to her, so she made an exact mold of her body."
